All qualifiers must pass the Utah Contractor Business - Law Examination.
To qualify for General Engineering, General Building classifications the applicant’s qualifier shall have had within the past 10 years a minimum of four years full-time related experience as an employee of a licensed contractor, two years of which shall be in a supervisory or managerial position under the direct supervision of a licensed.
The supervisory experience shall be in the classification for which application is being made.
To qualify for Roofing, Masonry, Steel Erection, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Fire Suppression classifications the applicant’s qualifier shall have had within the past 10 years a minimum of four years full-time related experience as an employee of a licensed contractor.
Electrical and Plumbing Qualifiers: must be licensed as a master plumber or electrician and require separate applications.
If the qualifier has passed the trade exam in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, or West Virginia he or she can waive the trade portion of the exam. We will provide:
Completed application required by the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
Assistance with Affidavit of Qualifying experience and providing a sample detail for the trade classification.
Register the corporation with the State of Utah Department of Commerce including resident agent service.
Help obtain an Utah State Tax Id Number.
Provide a two-day classroom study course for the law & trade exams in Salt Lake City.
Obtain a sealed licensed verification from the California Contractors Board.
Submit application to the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
Monitor your application through the entire process until a license is issued.
Give professional consultation before and after your license number is issued.
