The Oregon Construction Contractors Board is similar to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors when applying for a contractor’s license. The Board requires documentation and exam verification to be completed prior to submission of the application. However, there is no mandatory waiting period.
A1 Contractors will assist you by:
Completion and submission of your license application for corporations, joint ventures, partnerships and sole proprietors.
File corporate documents including resident agent with the Oregon Corporate Division.
Assistance to obtain a State Tax ID number with the Department of Revenue.
Supply to Regional Managing Individual (RMI) with a 16-hour course and preparation for the state exam.
Monitor the application until the license is issued.
As of January 2002 all out-of-state contractors must take the state exam including the 16-hour course.
Plumbers as well as Electricians should register with the Building Codes Division and obtain a business license with the Construction Contractors Board. The State of Oregon requires landscape contractors to be licensed with their own agency.
